Mauri
Mean Mauri has been a staple in the Dallas Ft.Worth media community for many years. Mauri grew up in the mean streets of West Dallas in a poor, but humble Hispanic family. During summer vacations from school, Mauri helped sell produce and watermelons out of the back of his dad’s pick-up truck. Mauri graduated from W.H. Adamson High School with dreams of someday being a big time star. Mauri started a cable TV show called “The Brown and Proud Show” in the early 90's, which lasted one hot summer. Then he got his break working at a community radio station KNON 89.3 FM. From there Mauri moved to KICK 99.1 FM, a powerhouse Tejano music station during the Selena era. After a station change to a Cumbia music format, Mauri suddenly found himself temporarily out of radio, and worked as a DJ at club DMX. As his popularity grew, Mauri started DMX-TV, a 30 minute show broadcast on Ch-29 TV in the DFW Metroplex. In August of 2004 Mauri was enticed back into radio at CASA 106.7 FM. In 2008 Mauri and the Homies where the #6 most listened to Morning Show in the market.
